Who we are. This policy describes how Word Journal (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Word Journal macOS application and this website (wordjournal.io), including pages served from this domain.

1. Purchases and Paddle

When you buy or subscribe to Word Journal through our checkout, Paddle.com acts as the merchant of record. Paddle processes payment, tax, and certain customer communications. 2. Information the app may process

Word Journal is designed to run primarily on your Mac. Depending on how you use the app, data may include:

• Words and journal content you save locally in the app.
• Optional AI features — if you enable them and provide API keys, requests may be sent to the AI provider you choose under their terms; we do not need to receive the content of those requests on our servers for basic app operation.
• Technical data such as crash or diagnostics information if you opt in to sharing such data with Apple or us through platform mechanisms.

3. Website and analytics

This site may use standard analytics (for example, privacy-focused or first-party measurement) to understand traffic. You can control cookies where your browser provides controls. See our cookie or analytics provider notices if we add third-party tools that require them.

4. Retention and security
